Nothing unique this year — same wolfing down of evil lechon (with its spinoff, lechon pizza, this time) and pork hardenera and pancit and fruit salad and grilled chicken, with caramelized sugar clinging needily to the skin. Today is for buying J a book (the look in his eyes when he tore the package open), happily attacking our mango panna cotta with dark chocolate truffle, and some peace and quiet. All is right in the world.

Will Christmas shopping ever seem like a chore?
Today I enjoyed the retail pandemonium that is Megamall (it’s a Saturday, and it’s Dec 11. You get the drift.) The bright lights and six-geese-a-laying blared by the speakers didn’t seem corny or intrusive. Our company party happened last night, so imagine the horror of my feet and leg muscles when I decided to proceed with gift-buying at a ridiculously populated mall hours after wearing high heels. Oh and by the way, last night was fun. Jack Daniel’s + Coke was a real hit. I was already half-asleep at Tabu Bar — and dealing with the preliminaries of a headache — a good hour before J arrived to pick me up. Read the rest of this entry

I saw this photo of two persons I know — one close to my heart, the other a jobless, thankless twat. In my mind, I was like, “Hey, that person hates you, says mean things about you.
