In this office we in the editorial department are supposed to write about world destinations, not entertain the ever-enticing prospect of our minds flying someplace else. So I decided to take a break from the daydreaming (Friday nights, oily fast food snacks, brand-new books mooched) and started a blog. I’m not exactly performing my job responsibilities by doing this, but at least here I am, Little Ms. Idle Time, producing something concrete, something with a teeny-weeny semblance of coherence.
Multiply has turned into a haven of crass consumerism (I don’t know if it’s just me, but the only ones who take time to add me up are merchants of Bangkok-made dresses and stuff), while Facebook caters less to bloggers than to application-crazy social networkers. I don’t find Blogspot user-friendly, and Blogdrive a novel idea (I’ve had one before, and I guess novelty is much of a factor these days), so I’m now officially a WordPress virgin.
Shoutouts to my baby for managing this website, for catering to my whims and for doing this unpaid work. Several mental nudges to myself for trying to recover my writing arm. Here we go.
