Fuck that thing they call modesty; a piece I wrote for WE was published last Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, in Business World. I’ve been working with the company for more than a year now (it has fed me, bought me things), and most of my publicity releases have occupied space in some mainstream papers, too. But this piece on an annual report awardee—an assignment given a day before it saw print—was quite difficult since I had not been able to flex my writing muscles in a while. And there are those topics I’d rather not befriend if they were a person: finance, corporate news, that another universe surrounded by creepy stats and figures.
